Preakness winner Curlin has been draw in stall three for Saturday’s 139th running of the Belmont Stakes in New York.

Trying to win the third jewel of the American Triple Crown, the son of Smart Strike is a 6-5 chance locally to beat just six rivals in the mile-and-a-half showpiece.

The Steve Asmussen-trained colt, third in the Kentucky Derby, will be ridden once more by Robby Albarado.

Among the opposition is the highly-regarded filly Rags To Riches, who will bid to give trainer Todd Pletcher a first Classic success.

The daughter of AP Indy, who is owned by Coolmore’s Derrick Smith and Michael Tabor, will race from stall seven, with Hard Spun, runner-up in the Derby and third in the Preakness, coming out of gate six.
