Fabre dark horse still in Derby picture

El Comodin still holds an outside chance of contesting next month’s Budweiser Irish Derby at the Curragh.

Andre Fabre’s Monsun colt was pushed out for a tidy two-and-a-half-length victory in a minor event at Longchamp, the Prix de Lormoy, at the end of last month.

Paul Harley, racing manager to his owner Baron Von Ullmann, said: “We haven’t yet decided. He was very impressive at Longchamp but we are not sure if it may come a bit too quick for him.”
