Epsom soft after further rain
Conditions at Epsom have eased after four millimetres of rain fell at the Surrey venue today.
The going is now described as soft with the Vodafone Oaks just two days away and the Vodafone Derby on Saturday.
“It rained from about midday until about 3.30pm but it’s cleared through now. It measured basically four millimetres,” said clerk of the course Andrew Cooper.
“There was enough to lose the good to soft element and just call it soft.
“The forecast is for the risk of showers on Thursday, a diminishing risk of showers on Friday and dry on Saturday.
“On that basis you would think the ground would if anything be better on Saturday than Friday because it has got more of a chance of seeing a bit of a dry spell.
“We might get up to somewhere around 20 degrees on Saturday and anything from mid to late teens between now and then.”
