Filming for the BBC prevented Dame Judi Dench seeing her first winner on a racecourse at Newmarket.

Dame Judi’s colt Smokey Oakey won the Material Change And Global Recycling Solutions Handicap Stakes but she had to rely on a phone call from co-owner and work colleague Bryan Agar to let her know the result.
