Silkwood's Oaks bid in the balance
A decision has yet to be made on the participation of Silkwood in the Vodafone Oaks on Friday week.
Although a recent springer in the market for the Epsom Classic, Michael Jarvis’ filly also holds an entry in a handicap at Newmarket on Sunday – but that option has been ruled out.
Owned by Sheikh Mohammed, Silkwood has won two of her three starts to date, beating subsequent winner Bergonzi on her most recent outing at Sandown.
“She doesn’t run this weekend and there has been no decision on the Oaks at the moment,” said Jarvis.
“She’s worked this morning, she seems fine and I need to speak to the powers that be.
“There will be a decision made some time next week.”
Silkwood is as low as 20-1 with Betfred for the Vodafone Oaks.
