Curragh an option for Sent

Michael Stoute’s Heaven Sent could make the trip across the Irish Sea to tackle the Ridgewood Pearl Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday.

Having reappeared with a fine third in the Spring Cup at Newbury, the Cheveley Park Stud-owned filly ran out a convincing winner of another decent contest at Ascot.

While plans are yet to be set in stone, connections have been thrilled with her progress this season and are looking forward to stepping her up in class sooner or later.

Chris Richardson, managing director at Cheveley Park, said: “It was a nice performance last time and she’s obviously improved to win that valuable handicap.

“Like a lot of Pivotal’s (sire) she looks pretty progressive so hopefully she can step up to black-type races.”

And of this weekend’s potential port of call, Richardson added: “It’s certainly an option but we haven’t sat down and sorted out where we’re going with all these fillies just yet.

“The ground would be a factor so we will have to see – like her sister (Megahertz) she prefers top of the ground.”

Among the other 13 to have stood their ground at the five-day confirmation stage is Dermot Weld’s Nightime, winner of the Irish 1000 Guineas at last year’s meeting.

Anna Karenina and the Michael Halford-trained pair Deauville Vision and Eastern Appeal are among the other interesting possibles.
