Ed Dunlop is expecting to be inundated with a deluge of telephone calls from prospective jockeys and their agents as the plum ride on Oaks second favourite Dalvina looks like coming up for grabs.

Dalvina has been partnered by Jamie Spencer in both of her two victories to date but a 10-day ban the former champion jockey picked up when riding in France last weekend threatens to rule him out of the two-day Epsom showpiece meeting.

Dunlop may have called on the services of Frankie Dettori but the victory of Godolphin’s Measured Tempo in the Swettenham Stud Fillies’ Trial Stakes at Newbury means the Italian will more than likely be required by his employers.

Dunlop told the Racing Post: “There is no decision yet. Obviously, there is going to be something of a jockey merry-go-round, but I will need to discuss the situation with Dalvina’s owners.”

Dalvina is 5-1 for the Vodafone Oaks with Bet365.
