Clarke steps down

Simon Clarke has resigned as vice chairman and director of the Racecourse Association following the announcement of the sale of Northern Racing.

Simon Clarke has resigned as vice chairman and director of the Racecourse Association following the announcement of the sale of Northern Racing.

Clarke, who is also Northern Racing’s deputy chairman, joined the RCA board in 2003 and became vice chairman in September that year.

He said: “It has been a pleasure to serve on the RCA board and to be vice chairman for Keith Brown, for a short time, and David Thorpe.

“I believe that a united and strong RCA is fundamental in the future strength of racecourse business and wish all participants in racing and the board of the RCA success with the challenges ahead”
