Abbot abandoned

Tomorrow’s meeting at Newton Abbot has been abandoned due to ground concerns.

Clerk of the course Jason Loosemore inspected the track at 8am on Monday and was not satisfied with conditions.

He said: “We have had a look and we have had to abandon. There are false patches of ground.

“We have had some heavy rain and although it is forecast to be largely dry with showers today, more rain is forecast tomorrow and I can’t see it improving.”
