Time still on road for York

Henry Cecil’s Vodafone Oaks favourite Passage Of Time is still on target for Wednesday’s Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York, despite the discovery of small abscess in her throat last week.

Henry Cecil’s Vodafone Oaks favourite Passage Of Time is still on target for Wednesday’s Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York, despite the discovery of small abscess in her throat last week.

The Prince Khalid Abdullah-owned filly worked in Newmarket on Saturday morning and will be closely monitored before connections allow her to take up her engagement on the Knavesmire.

Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to Abdullah, told the Racing Post: “She worked nicely, although there is still a question mark.

“All being well, we will take her to York. We would then like to get her to the Oaks, but there is always a danger she might not get there; there are no guarantees.”

One filly not going to York is Godolphin’s Measured Tempo, she will instead contest the Swettenham Stud Fillies’ Trial at Newbury on Friday.

She also worked on Saturday morning but connections have decided the Listed race won by Eswarah before her Oaks success two years ago, is the more suitable option.

“We were pleased with her work and the plan is for her to take her chance at Newbury,” said Godolphin’s racing manager, Simon Crisford.
