David Wachman is sending Followmyfootsteps over from his County Tipperary base to contest the French 2000 Guineas at Longchamp on Sunday.

The Michael Tabor-owned colt won a maiden at Tipperary last month in eye-catching style but faces a significant step up in class.

However, the shrewd Wachman has seen enough from the son of Giant’s Causeway on the gallops at home to suggest he is ready for the challenge.

“He’s an intended runner,” said Wachman.

“He won his maiden about a month ago and he has shown me enough at home since to suggest that he is worth his place in the line-up.

“He won his maiden over seven and a half furlongs and he’s by Giant’s Causeway so the trip shouldn’t be a problem.

“Stephane Pasquier rides him so we will see what happens now.”
