Peslier to ride Cockney Rebel

Olivier Peslier will ride the Geoff Huffer-trained Cockney Rebel in the Stan James 2000 Guineas next Saturday.

The crack French rider will acquaint himself with the classy three-year-old, last seen finishing third in the Champagne Stakes at York, in a gallop on Saturday morning.

Huffer told the Racing Post: “He’s a straightforward horse but it is always nice to unite them before the big day.

“This is the first time I have used a French jockey since Yves Saint-Martin rode Persian Heights’ half-brother to finish second at Evry. But Olivier Peslier is a world-class jockey and I am happy to have secured his services.”
