John Smith’s Grand National gamble Joes Edge put the finishing touches to his preparation for Saturday’s showpiece race on the sands of Redcar beach in Cleveland.

Ferdy Murphy took the former Scottish National winner, along with a number of his in-form string, for a day at the seaside to enjoy a change of scenery.
