Dawn To Dusk justifies faith
From Dawn To Dusk made much of the running when justifying 6-5 favouritism in the Join racing4all.co.uk Racing Club Novices' Chase at Haydock.
Richard Johnson always looked to have matters in hand aboard the eight-year-old, whose task was made all the simpler when Principe Azzurro unshipped Mark Bradburne at the penultimate obstacle.
From Dawn To Dusk looked to have shaken that rival off, however, and he galloped all the way to the line when Johnson asked him to put his seal on the race.
The duo passed the post with a ready five lengths to spare from the staying-on 9-2 chance Chickapeakray.
“That was very good and he loves this ground,” said winning handler Philip Hobbs. There is a three-mile novices’ handicap chase up at Ayr (Scottish Grand National meeting) that would probably come into consideration now.
“He’s in good form and likes this ground so we’ll probably keep him going a while.”
