Guest delighted with Spring Mile win
Richard Guest was all smiles after watching 12-1 chance European Dream rout his field in the William Hill Spring Mile.
Drawn 14, the son of Kalanisi still had lots of horses in front of him at halfway but began to motor approaching the final furlong and eventually flew six lengths clear of runner-up Dancing Lyra (12-1).
Shot To Fame set a furious gallop up the stands rail but maintained his push to claim third, while a staying-on Prince Samos finished fourth.
“You’ve just got to ride him with the utmost confidence and come between horses and Darryll Holland is a brilliant hold-up jockey,” Guest said.
“It’s a shame he didn’t win one or two more last year as he might have got in the Lincoln. He loves it here as they go a real good gallop and come back to him.
“We’ve been thinking of a mile Listed race in about a month’s time for him in Sweden next.
“It’s also nice to show we can train Flat horses as we are heading a bit more in that direction now.”
