Collier run in question

Alan Swinbank will leave it late before deciding whether to allow stable star Collier Hill to run in Saturday’s Dubai Sheema Classic.

The nine-year-old has finished third and second in the last two renewals of the 12-furlong race but a foot problem is threatening his participation at Nad Al Sheba.

He was back out on the track to complete his work on Friday morning but Swinbank has not made a decision on whether the Canadian International and Hong Kong Vase winner will run.

“He’s had a shoe problem for the last two weeks,” Swinbank said. “But he was worse than this in Hong Kong.”

Connections remain hopeful of Collier Hill lining up and Swinbank believes the son of Dr Devious would have a good chance of adding to his big-race tally.

“We’ve always seen the best of him,” he added.

“He’s won his last two Group One races and over the last year, he’s been at the highest level.”
