Ardbrae Lady wins for Murphy

The Group Three Lodge Park Stud EBF Park Express Stakes went the way of Joseph Murphy's Ardbrae Lady (7-1).

Despite not winning in 11 starts last season, she finished a 50-1 second to Nightime in the Irish 1000 Guineas.

La Conquistadora looked like playing a leading role in the finish for a long way but just tired in the final half a furlong, leaving Danehill Music and the eye-catching Truly Mine to fill the places a length behind the winner.

Murphy said: “She’s got it right at last, although she is very genuine. It’s great to get a Group-race victory for her pedigree. She is going to be covered this year by Galileo.

“She’s entered in the Gladness and Athasi Stakes back here – the Athasi could be the race for her, but we’ll have to see as she’s in both.

“The Windsor Forest at Royal Ascot might be a possibility, but the ground would want to be soft, she handles it well.”
