Carlisle forced to inspect

Today’s National Hunt meeting at Carlisle is subject to the course passing a 9.30am inspection.

Clerk of the course Jonnie Fenwicke-Clennell was left with no option but to announce the early check with snow lying on the track at present.

“We’re having an inspection at 9.30 because there is a little bit of snow lying on the course in places,” he said.

“It’s snowing at the moment and the forecast for the rest of the morning is like this. At the moment prospects are about 50-50.”
