Ayr goes ahead

Ayr have cancelled plans for a precautionary inspection and this afternoon’s meeting goes ahead.

Clerk of the course Katherine Self called off the 7.30am check after a dry night.

She said: “We didn’t need the inspection, it was 100% precautionary and I was fairly confident yesterday to be honest.

“We had two and a half millimetres of rain and hail during yesterday’s meeting but that was nothing to worry about.

“The ground is going back fine this morning and we are moving the bends so there will be fresh ground there.”
