Miami for Kempton

Moon Over Miami is set to return from a break in the Anglo Irish Bank Novices’ Hurdle at Kempton on Saturday.

The Grade Two contest has been identified as the next port of call by Charlie Mann before a tilt at the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

The six-year-old won a similar event at Prestbury Park in November before being touched off by Tagula Blue at Ascot the following month.

“It was always the plan to give him a break as he had three races in nearly a month,” said Mann.

“He’s very fresh and I would like to get a race into him before Cheltenham to knock the freshness off him.

“He will go to Kempton at the weekend, but it looks a very good race.

“The only reason he has been beaten at Ascot and Kempton this season is because there wasn’t any pace. He needs a fast-run race to be seen at his best.

“He should get a good gallop in the Supreme – I’m not sure if he will on Saturday or not, but if he works well tomorrow he will be going to Kempton.”

Moon Over Miami is 16-1 with Ladbrokes for the Anglo Irish Bank Supreme Novices’ Hurdle next month.
