Good finish for Hanley, but Kurten out

Ireland's Cameron Hanley finished a creditable 7th in the latest qualifying round of the FEI World Cup in Vigo, Spain, tonight.

The Claremorris rider coaxed two superb jumping rounds out of grey gelding SIEC Concept to slot into 7th after the jump-off.

There was no joy however for Ireland's other participant, Jessica Kurten, whose opening round four faults on Quibell ruled her out of the decider.

Switzerland's Steve Guerdat won tonight's competition, going clear in 43.40 on Jalisca Solier, pipping Dutch rider Leopold Van Asten on VDL Groep Fleche Rouge by a tenth of a second.
