Hereford forced to abandon

Officials at Hereford have been forced to abandon Sunday’s meeting due to snow.

Clerk of the course Gemma Charrington was scheduled to hold a 3pm inspection today but brought forward her decision after it became clear the situation was hopeless.

“We currently have three inches of snow still on the track and even if it was to suddenly disappear we would then be waterlogged,” she explained.

“It snowed all day yesterday and it was six inches thick in places when I left yesterday evening. I’ve never known snow like it since I’ve been here.

“We’re still completely covered so we’ve unfortunately had to abandon.”
