Officials at Kempton have cancelled their planned 7.30am inspection and this afternoon’s meeting goes ahead.

Clerk of the course Brian Clifford covered the track to protect against frost earlier in the week and the venue did see some substantial snow yesterday.

However, Clifford reports the covers to have done their job and racing is on.

He said: “We have got to get the covers off but we are raceable underneath so I’ve given it the go-ahead.

“There is still snow on the covers but we will get them off. It will probably take about five hours and we can always push racing back by 30 minutes if needs be.”
