Acambo heads Trophy hopefuls
Ante-post favourite Acambo tops a list of 21 horses declared for Saturday’s totesport Trophy at Newbury.
David Pipe’s charge is the general 7/2 favourite for the contest after winning The Ladbroke at Ascot on his most recent start in December.
The six-year-old, who shoulders top weight, is one of three runners for Pipe along with My Immortal and Bongo Fury.
Willie Mullins sends both Mister Hight and Quatre Heures for the extended two-mile race and the pair form part of a strong Irish challenge.
Pedrobob, Victram, Moore’s Law and New Field also make the trip.
Nicky Henderson sends a team of three with Ladbroke second Tarlac, Caracciola and Papini all taking their chances while champion trainer Paul Nicholls relies on Pirate Flagship.
William Hill Handicap Hurdle winner Overstrand bids to add to his haul for trainer Dr Richard Newland while other eye-catching declarations include John Quinn’s Elite Hurdle winner Crow Wood.
