Bear to tackle Detroit

Nick Gifford’s Straw Bear will take on Champion Hurdle favourite Detroit City in the Agfa UK Hurdle at Sandown on Saturday.

The Supreme Novices’ Hurdle runner-up won the ’Fighting Fifth’ Hurdle on his reappearance but was a major disappointment when sent off the odds-on favourite for the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton.
