Officials at Hereford have cancelled a planned 7.30am inspection and racing goes ahead this afternoon.

Clerk of the course Gemma Charrington had been concerned by the overnight forecast but temperatures did not drop as far as anticipated.

She said: “I was able to cancel the inspection as when I came in at 6am, temperatures were already up to plus two.

“It did drop to minus one but temperatures started to lift after midnight and racing goes ahead.”
