Lingfield look again, Huntingdon and Catterick pass

This afternoon's Flat meeting at Lingfield is now subject to an 11am precautionary inspection.

This afternoon's Flat meeting at Lingfield is now subject to an 11am precautionary inspection.

After inspecting the all-weather course at 9.30am, course inspector Mackenzie-Ross issued another precautionary inspection at 11am.

“We are improving,” he said. “It has stopped snowing and the clear-up operation we are doing on the track has worked well. We are optimistic racing will go ahead but we have called another inspection, just to be safe.”

Meanwhile, this afternoon's meeting at Huntingdon has passed a precautionary inspection and will go ahead as scheduled.

Catterick’s 10am inspection was also highly profitable as Sanderson was able to give the meeting, set to commence at 1.10pm, the go-ahead.

“We have improved a lot and the temperature has risen – and is set to continue to do so,” he added.

“The parts of the track that were not quite right have also improved so we are fit for racing.”
