Lungo happy with Haydock hope

Wild Cane Ridge is set to tackle Grade Two company over fences for the first time if Saturday’s meeting at Haydock gets the go-ahead.

The fixture is in doubt at present with water logging affected some areas of the track and an inspection has been called for 8am on Friday.

However, Lungo will be hoping the meeting gets the green light as he reports his eight-year-old to be in top form ahead of the Peter Marsh Chase.

He said: “I’m very happy with the horse. He did a nice piece of work on Wednesday morning and he schooled well on Tuesday. He is absolutely on schedule for the race and I can have no complaints with how his preparation has gone.”
