Wetherby and Warwick pass inspections

This afternoon’s meetings at Wetherby and Warwick go ahead after the tracks passed early morning inspections.

Clerk of the course at Wetherby Jonjo Sanderson was due to check conditions at 8am but he brought forward the inspection after a dry night.

He said: “We’re OK to race. We had some strong winds overnight which have dried us out nicely.

“The winds have abated now, it’s quite still and a very mild morning.”

The going at Wetherby is officially heavy.

Warwick had been waterlogged earlier in the week but a dry spell of weather has seen conditions improve.

Clerk of the course Fiona Needham said: “It’s been dry overnight and we are racing today.

“Obviously it’s heavy ground and it’s going to be testing but we are raceable.”
