Warwick 'very hopeful'
Saturday’s meeting at Warwick is subject to a further inspection at 7.30am tomorrow morning.
An inspection was held at 8.00am on Friday which prompted course officials to have another look after a considerable change in conditions.
The meeting, which includes the track’s showpiece race, the totesport Classic Chase, has been in doubt all week but after a dry night conditions have changed dramatically and officials are now ‘very hopeful’ that racing will take place.
“We were dry overnight and we are not forecast any more significant rain before racing,” said clerk of the course, Fiona Needham.
“Providing that the forecast is right we should be fine but we are having another inspection in the morning at 7.30. We are very hopeful though.”
