Richard Johnson will be in action at Hereford this afternoon after recovering from a fall at Wincanton yesterday.

The popular jockey rode in the following race after parting company with Lead On in the first division of the betfredcasino.com Maiden Hurdle.

However, he was subsequently forced to give up his remaining rides due to a stiff back but is reportedly back in good shape again.

“I’m fine now and I’ll be riding at Hereford today,” he said.

“My back was a bit stiff and I actually had some treatment on it yesterday before racing. Obviously that fall in the first then aggravated it. I rode in the second race but it was stiff as I came back in and I thought I wasn’t going to be able to justice to the horses I was due to ride later. So I then took the rest of the day off but it feels an awful lot better again today.”
