Plumpton to take a look

Plumpton will hold a precautionary 7.30am inspection ahead of Sunday’s meeting.

The course was hit by rain throughout Saturday but the overnight prediction is not too bad and officials are hopeful the meeting will go ahead as planned.

“We’ve had 10 millimetres throughout Saturday but it is meant to be clearing up by nightfall,” said Plumpton chief executive Patrick Davies.

“We are supposed to have a dry night and tomorrow is just supposed to be a grey, dull day with drizzle, in which case we should be fine. We have just called an inspection in case the forecasters have got it wrong.”
