Acambo sticks to timber

Acambo, who is set to take his chance in the Tote Gold Trophy at Newbury on February 10, is “much more likely” to remain over hurdles than switch to fences this season.

Although a tilt at the Arkle was touted for David Pipe’s charge, owner David Johnson revealed: “You may well see Acambo in the Tote Gold Trophy at Newbury next month and if he runs a big race in that, I’d be reluctant to go over fences owing to the relative late stage of the season.
