Ouija Board is to have a Graded race named after her in America next year.

Ed Dunlop’s recently-retired mare will be honoured at Lone Star in Dallas - the scene of her first Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf triumph in 2004.

The Grade Three Ouija Board Handicap over a mile will be run on May 28 and worth $200,000 (€151,550) in prize money.

“Ouija Board was magnificent and shone at Lone Star,” the Texan track’s general manager told the Racing Post.

“It’s only fitting that one of the greatest mares of all time be honoured with our greatest race for fillies and mares on turf.”
