Sedgefield fine for racing

Sedgefield have chosen not to inspect at 7.30 and will go ahead with their St Stephen's Day meeting as scheduled.

Clerk of the course Charlie Moore initially called for an early-morning check due to frost in the ground.

However, as the track was raceable on Christmas Day, Moore was content to give the six-race card, due to commence at 12.30, the go-ahead.

He said: “We’ve had a relatively mild night and it’s all systems go. It’s soft ground, but it will ride tacky.”
