Doyle upbeat after Oscar fall
Tom Doyle has declared himself “OK” after taking a nasty fall aboard Oscar Park in the totescoop6 Handicap Hurdle at Haydock yesterday.
The Colin Tinkler-trained seven-year-old was sent off at 7-2 for the two-and-a-half-mile contest but took a heavy fall at the third flight.
And despite receiving a kick for his troubles, Doyle emerged relatively unscathed and hopes to be back in the saddle on Wednesday.
“I think I’m OK really, I’m just a bit battered and bruised,” he said.
“I just got a kick in my lower back but it’s OK. It seems to be fine and it’s just a little stiff and sore.
“I don’t think it’ll affect my riding plans and I hope to be back next week. There’s racing tomorrow but I don’t think I’ll be riding then.
“I’ll hopefully be back on Wednesday – that’s the plan anyway.”
