Plumpton given go ahead
Plumpton, who stage a six-race card this afternoon, survived an early-morning inspection and go ahead as scheduled.
The East Sussex venue withstood 12 millimetres of rain since 4pm on Sunday but is fit for racing, which begins at 12.40pm.
“We’ve had quite a bit of rain but it’s very fresh and that has helped,” explained clerk of the course Mark Cornford.
“Just to be on the safe side though, we’ve taken out the last flight of hurdles.
“The going is heavy but we are looking forward to a good day of racing.”
