Moore out of luck in Japan
Ryan Moore could finish only 10th in the 2006 World Super Jockeys Series in Japan won by German Andreas Suborics.
Britain’s newly-crowned champion amassed 26 points in the four-race competition held over two days at the refurbished Hanshin racecourse.
Suborics took the title with 43 points, two more points than last year’s winner Yasunari Iwata.
The winner said: “I feel lucky to have been able to win the championship. This is the best competition for jockeys in the world.”
A total of 14 riders, including American Edgar Prado, Australian Darren Beadman and Japan’s Yutaka Take, took part in the 20th year of the tournament.
