Egan given all-clear

John Egan has been given the all-clear by hospital staff following his nasty spill from Eccollo in the iBetX.com Handicap at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening.

Egan found himself short of room on the final bend and his mount clipped the heels of another runner, catapulting the rider in to the ground.

He was taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton, but following X-rays, he was released.

“I went with him to hospital last night where he had some X-rays but he was given the all-clear,” said Eccollo’s trainer, Tim Pitt.

“Obviously he is battered and bruised and having been knocked out for a minute I imagine he will be stood down for a short while now.

“But, he is back home and he knows it could have been a lot worse.”
