Dettori set for Ouija gallop

Frankie Dettori will team up with star mare Ouija Board tomorrow ahead of her run in the Japan Cup on Sunday.

The Italian is set to be reunited with Lord Derby’s star for a spin around Tokyo racecourse.

The dynamic duo were last seen in action winning the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf at Churchill Downs earlier this month.

Jason Tate was in the plate this morning as Ouija Board cantered for a total of a mile and three-quarters on the track.

“Her condition is very good and I’m very happy with her,” said trainer Ed Dunlop.

“Frankie Dettori is scheduled to gallop her tomorrow,” he told www.japanracing.jp.

The seven-times Group One winner, fifth in the Japan Cup last year, is set to run in the Hong Kong Vase next month before she retires to the paddocks.

Her illustrious career was honoured only last week when she was crowned horse of the year for a second time at the Cartier Awards, having recently gained her second success at the Breeders’ Cup in three years.
