Diamond ruled out of Cup

Carte Diamond has been ruled out of the Emirates Melbourne Cup after three Australian vets declared him unfit to race.

The Australian stewards sent a team of vets to watch the horse work before conducting a more thorough examination and scan of a tendon problem sustained when galloping at Denistoun Park in August.
