Selinka shines for Hannon

Selinka successfully stepped up to seven furlongs under a power-packed Ryan Moore ride to claim the Listed Finnforest EBF Oh So Sharp Stakes on Cambridgeshire afternoon at Newmarket.

The champion jockey-elect was hard at work towards the back of the field with three furlongs left to go but the 10-1 shot found another gear on hitting the rising ground.

Switched to the outside, Richard Hannon's charge flew down the outside of the field to mug Puggy on the line for a short-head victory, with the front-running Guarantia managing to keep third.

Hannon said: "She won well at Nottingham the other day and did that nicely too.

"I think that will probably be it for the year, although she is holding her coat very well, so we will see.

"The 1000 Guineas is not out of the question next year and we would be looking to step her up in grade rather than down."
