The inaugural Ryder Cup raceday at the Curragh on September 19 will be spiced up by the appearance of two relative newcomers to the racing scene – Lawrence Dallaglio and Jodie Kidd.

Rugby player Dallaglio and former model Kidd are shareowners in Highclere Thoroughbred Racing and both have been fortunate enough to become involved in juveniles with leading chances in two of the richest races ever run in Europe.

Dallaglio is involved with the two-year-old colt Regime, handled by Derby winning trainer Michael Bell.

The Golan colt won impressively at Beverley last time and would appear to hold live claims in the Shelbourne Hotel Goffs Million over seven furlongs, worth an incredible €1,000,000 to the winner.

“Having never owned a racehorse before, I’m thoroughly enjoying my experience with Highclere and the four horses I’m now involved with,” said Dallaglio.

“The team are very professional at keeping me updated with their progress and make me feel that I am the sole owner of each horse.

“Regime won impressively last week and now looks a real live contender for the Goffs Million race at the Curragh…. Wouldn’t that be something?

“Anyway lets hope that one of my four might have what it takes to be another one of their champions!”

Jodie Kidd is involved with a Diktat filly called Cliché, in training with Sir Michael Stoute and aimed at the Shelbourne Hotel Goffs Fillies Five Hundred, worth €500,000 to the winner.

“I’m mad about my filly Cliché with Sir Michael Stoute and can’t believe that I’m off to Ireland to watch her run in a race worth 500,000 Euros to the winner,” said Kidd.
