Sir Michael Stoute’s Allegretto returns to action on the Knavesmire after she was last seen finishing third behind Alexandrova and stablemate Short Skirt in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks.

Godolphin will be represented by Guadalajara, who was turned over when sent off the odds-on favourite for the Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury last month.

Rising Cross, runner-up in the Vodafone Oaks and third in the Irish equivalent on her penultimate start, is also on the comeback trail in the Group Two heat after she trailed home last in the Beverly D Stakes at Arlington.

Anna Pavlova, an impressive winner on soft ground over a mile and a half at York last time, hails from Richard Fahey’s yard, while the David Elsworth-trained Art Eyes takes her chance.

Recent Deauville Group Three winner Maroussies Wings and John Gosden’s Quenched complete the line-up.
