Muir eyes Germany for Enforcer

William Muir expects stable star Enforcer to be fit for the Group One IVG Preis Von Europa in Germany later this month.

The four-year-old disappointed at Epsom last week when only fourth in a conditions event but Muir’s charge returned with blood coming from his foot.

Muir found Enforcer had suffered a recurrence of the foot abscess that had ruled him out of the Juddmonte International Stakes but he reports the Efisio colt to be back on form.

“I was very annoyed with myself when I was thinking about it on the way home afterwards but if we hadn’t have gone there, it may not have burst out, it may be still there now and he may not have got to Germany,” he told At The Races.

“Now it’s come right, it’s all dried up and we have a special shoe on to stabilise the heel for the next couple of weeks.

“He’s back cantering he looks fantastic again now. He’s on target to go to Cologne on September 24.”

Enforcer will be bidding for a first success at the highest level after a sequence of good performances this term, including third in the Coronation Cup and fourth in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes.
