Godolphin happy with American squad
Godolphin’s American team are set to travel back to their Belmont Park base after a successful stint at Saratoga.
Sheikh Mohammed’s operation sent out four winners in 10 races at the meeting, highlighted by Discreet Cat’s return to action in an allowance race on August 25.
The unbeaten colt was an impressive 11-length winner, with stablemate Ashkal Way following up in the Grade Two Bernard Baruch Handicap Stakes 24 hours later.
Godolphin’s Richard Mettee said: “Saratoga was a good meet for us, with Discreet Cat looking very impressive and Ashkal Way winning the Grade Two race, and all things considered we did well.
“We’re looking forward to the last couple of months of the season over here. Horses train well down at Belmont as it’s a big, wide track, and it’s a great place to train from,” he told www.godolphin.com.
