Rain forces Thirsk abandonment

Thirsk’s meeting was abandoned today after the third race due to waterlogging.

The track was declared to be unsafe following an inspection by track officials, who were joined by a deputation of jockeys and trainers.

After winning the second race on Hadahoo, Darryll Holland reported to the stewards there was a problem with a certain part of the course where the ground was moving underneath the horses’ hooves.
