Discreet Cat made an impressive return to action when cruising home by 11 lengths in an allowance event at Saratoga.

The Godolphin three-year-old had been off the track since winning the UAE Derby at Nad Al Sheba in March but he proved his wellbeing in the seven-furlong dirt event.

Discreet Cat broke well under Garrett Gomez, initially taking the lead before being settled into fifth place until taking it up in the straight.

The Forestry colt easily pulled clear of his rivals, notching the fastest time seen over the distance at the track this year.

Discreet Cat will now be aimed at the Grade Two Jerome Breeders’ Cup Handicap over a mile at Belmont Park on October 1.

Racing manager Simon Crisford told www.godolphin.com: “Discreet Cat won really well and we are very pleased with the run which will bring him spot on for the Jerome.

“He is a horse with stacks of class and loads of potential – he has tons of natural speed and will stay in training next year.”
