Chance to sponsor at Ayr

Businesses and individuals are being invited to sponsor a race at next month’s Ayr Gold Cup Festival.

Sponsorship rights will be secured by the highest bidder above a reserve of £1,500 (€2,200) for the eighth race on Saturday September 16th, which will be run over a mile and a quarter and has a prize fund of £8,500 (€12,500).

Interested parties can bid via the ebay auction website, and if successful they will be entitled to numerous benefits including the chance to name the race and advertise in the racecard and on course.

The race will be screened live on Racing UK and in betting shops via SIS.

“We feel that by offering the race sponsorship in this way many people and businesses who may not have previously thought of sponsoring a race will have the opportunity to do so,” said Ayr racecourse general manager William Gorol.

“We already auctioned a race at the Scottish Grand National meeting in 2005 and the successful bidder secured sponsorship for his bid of £2,500.

“We are hoping this race at our totesport Ayr Gold Cup Festival also attracts some serious bidding.”
