Enforcer withdrawn from Juddmonte

Willie Muir’s tough and consistent four-year-old Enforcer has been withdrawn from the Juddmonte International Stakes due to lameness.

The Efisio colt was last seen finishing a close-up fourth behind Hurricane Run in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot.

Muir had been thrilled with the horse’s condition ahead of today’s race but noticed a problem when Enforcer took an uncharacteristically bad step.

The problem is only a minor one and is unlikely to keep his charge out of action for long but the timing has prevented him from lining up on the Knavesmire.

A disappointed Muir explained: "He just has some pus in his foot and there’s not a lot I can do about that. I can’t get him to York to run – he’s very tough but not that tough."
